As reported by the Montserrat National Trust (MNT), the University of the West Indies open campus in Montserrat and the Montserrat Community College have coordinated a public lecture scheduled for 7 July 2009.

The guest speaker for this lecture entitled ‘Volcanically Induced Loss of Archaeological Sites, Montserrat’ is Archaeologist, Dr. David R. Watter of the Carneqie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the United States.

The Montserrat National Trust, the UWI Open Campus, and the Montserrat Community College take this opportunity to invite residents of Montserrat to a public lecture by archaeologist Dr. David R. Watters of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

This public lecture will include presentations on Dr. Watters’ archaeological findings from excavations on island that were carried out prior to the 1995 eruptions of the Soufriere Hills Volcano.
