The newly dedicated St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Lookout officiated the confirmation of 13 young Catholics just days after its official opening.

As reported by the Government Information Unit (GIU), the sacrament of confirmation was administered by the Most Reverend Bishop Gabriel Malzaire.

Reverend Malzaire is the Bishop of Roseau and the Apostle Administrator for the Diocese of St. John’s/Basseterre, which is a part of Montserrat.

According to the GIU, “Mrs. Catherine Browne functioned in the capacity of Catechist during the ceremony. Browne was highly praised for her role in preparing and instructing the candidates in order to make them ready to receive the sacrament of confirmation.”

The GIU’s press officer reveals that Parrish Priest Father George reminded the congregation of their obligation to help the newly confirmed young people to be faithful to the Holy Spirit and to be loyal members of the church by their prayers, good example, and encouragement.
