Ms. Sonia Charles, a clinical ultrasound specialist, visited Montserrat in April 2009 and provided her services.
Ms. Charles’ services also included a symposium on the benefits of ultrasound for the well being of people.
According to Ms. Charles, a medical ultrasound is a simple, safe, and painless diagnostic procedure which does not involve any injections or radiation exposure, thus making it a very safe process.
She emphasized that an ultrasound can be used in the examination of a wide range of organs such as the blood vessels, uterus, ovaries, liver, kidneys, bladder, prostate, breast, and during pregnancy.
