From the documents submitted, it is estimated that some 166 jobs will be created and direct injections into the economy are estimated at approximately EC$2.8 million… Wished them every success in the implementation of these projects, which are very important to the development of the tourism sector and the economy of Montserrat. To those of you who were not selected for grant awards in this the first round of the Challenge Fund, please do not give up. I share the sentiments of the Selection Panel that unfortunately some very interesting projects could not be selected but that nevertheless you should apply again for the second round of grants.”

One applicant wishing to remain anonymous states that ” the submission and selection process has been a great disappointment and in some instances appear to be completely illogical. I see no point in wasting all my efforts and time again only to be baffled by the second round selections of such an educated and well-suited organization.”
