Look to the Future
By: Karen ‘Lioness’ Allen
I dare you to challenge what I have to say
I speak nothing but facts as I face you today
I want you to know I fear you in no way
I fear only Jah, who molded me out of clay.
I went to your schools, oh the things that you teach
You put garbage in our heads and send us out in the streets
You’ve turned us against each other, laugh and cut off our feet
and, you show no conscience, just lies and deceit.
Your entire objective you knew from the start
You took every family and tore them apart
You ravaged each village like a poison dart
The flowing blood of my people continues to break my heart.
I stomp my feet and scream, I want to know why?
Why is there no justice for all the innocent that die?
They walk away scott-free and with each step, I sigh
I hold my heart and my head and I break down and cry.
Then from out of the pain a voice stated outright
My daughter stop crying, for I’ll come like a thief in the night
Then they will fear and try to run away in fright
But their judgment is mine. It will be my delight!
For every man, every woman, son, daughter and child
For every wrong, injustice, murder, and all evil gone wild
For every unrighteous act which caused H.I.M. bitter and bile
For every thing that offends, every thing that defiles
He has chosen a day that is known by no man
When He will end the reign of evil that now rules the land
He will avenge the infinite list of the innocent dead, numberless like black sand
He will make you pay in a way your feabible minds won’t understand.
After this great day of judgment has completed and pass
The world will evolve with its intended class
Evil and poverty destroyed forever at last
Yes, no more tears, no more memories of our painful past.
